Chance of a Lifetime by Marissa Clarke is the third installment in the Anderson Brothers series. It’s witty, charming and full of twists and turns that make this one of my new favorites. Those unexpected discoveries are what make this book unique and absolutely spellbinding.
Gen Richards has a bucket list that she’s intent on keeping to herself. Should anyone discover her plan they’d make it impossible for her to attack it. Tired of everyone controlling her life this time Gen is ready to take control, even if she has to do it covertly. Can Gen find a way to tackle that bucket list without her big brother discovering her secret?
Chance Anderson has known Gen his entire life but he can’t forgive himself for what happened all those years ago. Guilt, fear, and love have plagued Will but he’s never been able to talk about it. For those preparing for the “epic” and “historic” storm along the east coast, please stay safe and warm.
The idea of being snowed in with little to no chance of leaving for a few days seems a bit frightening to some. It’s entertaining to watch the news of the people shopping for food that some never use when there isn’t a crisis.
As I’ve listened to the newscasters discuss the essential items this is one that I’d use as my go to.
- TP – yes, you do need it!
- Coffee
- Adult Beverages
- Chocolate
- Books
- Blankets
- Batteries, charging cables and phone cords in one place.
- Food that will get you through – a week at most. I read that even onions were hard to come by.
What would be on your list? Would you care if you were stuck for days?
Have fun with the kiddos, four legged pets, husbands/significant others and don’t forget to be neighborly and check on those who can’t get out.
Keep those who must be out in this weather for their jobs that they get to and from work safely. AND that everyone gets off the road so that they can do their job.

Sawyer Chase is drawn to Kelsie and wants to help her. After the awkward and hilarious first encounter there is something there. But, neither one are ready to admit there might be something more. Both have a few obstacles to overcome, their own fears and concerns to work through. Kelsie’s priority is finding a date for her sister’s wedding? Once again, Sarah Balance delivers characters are real and completely charming. I’m so in love with the Chase brothers and the rest of the characters their paths cross. As soon as you’re finished, I challenge you to tackle your own fears. It’s not easy to admit you’re afraid or have something to improve. However, when you find someone you trust that is willing to help you work through it, it’s amazing what you can accomplish. Kelsie is a lucky girl and Sawyer is about to find out what he’s been missing.
While Sarah’s book can be read as a standalone, this sexy and flirty- fun book is the second installment in a must read series. These characters are witty, creative and willing to go outside the box for love. The perfect recipe for this contemporary romance.

Bestselling author Barbara Devlin was born a storyteller. A Texan, through and through, Barbara hasn’t been without a book in her possession since she was in kindergarten. She wrote her first short story, a really cheesy murder-mystery, in high school, but it was a Christmas gift, a lovely little diary with a bronze lock, given to her in the fifth grade that truly inspired her love of writing.
After completing part of her undergraduate studies at the University of London, where she developed a love of all things British, Barbara returned home and began a career in banking. But the late 80s weren’t too promising for the financial industry, and every bank that hired Barbara soon folded. So she searched for a stable occupation, and the local police department offered the answer to her prayers.
Initially, Barbara wasn’t too sure about her new career in law enforcement, but she soon came to love being a police officer. And then one uncharacteristically cold and icy day in December 1998, Barbara was struck by a car and pinned against a guardrail while working an accident on a major highway. Permanently disabled, she retired from the police department and devoted her time and energy to physical therapy.
Once Barbara got back on her feet, she focused on a new career in academia. She earned an MA in English and continued a course of study for a Doctorate in Literature and Rhetoric. She happily considered herself an exceedingly eccentric English professor, until success in Indie publishing lured her into writing, full-time, featuring her fictional knighthood, the Brethren of the Coast.

Although Jeanne Adams likes calling North Carolina home, she lives in DC, where The Tentacle Affaire is set, and often jogs on the C&O towpath with her dogs. Her favorite holiday is Halloween. She starts planning the annual yard decor on November 1. Alas, in this case however, the “Adams Family” – one husband, two sons and three dogs – is all bark and no bite.
On another spooky note, Jeanne used to work in the funeral and cemetery business, and knows a thing or two about getting rid of the body….bwhahahah! (She even teaches classes about it to other writers!)
Jeanne has written suspense novels for Kensington/Zebra Publishing since 2007.
